MY STORY

Christi Leskinen:  child of God, daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend...advocate/entrepreneur

I'm a native Nashvillian. I've lived in 8 states (TN, TX, KS, MO, CA, MD, GA, PA) and returned to Nashville in 1992 when I married my husband of almost 30 years. Save the applause on that one--our marriage has not been a blueprint for a happy, healthy marriage. Through it all though, I have learned a lot about life, relationships, and love. We are currently growing, working, and healing. We have four pretty amazing kids. They are my life's work. I have been  a "stay-at-home" mom  ( I despise that term because we were rarely "at home") for 25 years. I have a son, 25, ( graduate of Brown University & living his dream in Los Angeles), a son, 23, (graduate of Tulane University & living his dream in Miami), a daughter, 20, (sophomore at SMU in Dallas and absolutely thriving), and a son,14 (an 8th grader still at home who would  say he's not  yet living his dream ;-)

I'm an avid reader. Music is my lifeblood. The gym is my sanctuary. I've always stayed active because I want to be able to play with and keep up with my children. When my back is not an issue (which has been an on-going problem for 2 years), I enjoy lifting, tennis, water-skiing, and snow skiing.

I'm a perfectly imperfect Christian, daughter, sister, wife, mom, and friend. I have done, and continue to do a lot of things wrong, but I do a hell of a lot right too! Despite my flaws, God has chosen me to bring this mission to fruition. Honestly, He's told me to do a lot of things in my life, but I haven't always listened. I often times like my plan better than His. This time though, He's been relentless: keeping me awake day and night,  interrupting my sleep, giving me signs. So to be clear, this is not My plan or My vision. It's His. All His. And I'm feeling...shocked, amazed, special, overwhelmed, terrified, and honored that He's trusting me with this project.

That's me in a nutshell...where I've been, where I'm at, and where I'm heading.

the journey continues...
